A big thank you to everyone who sent in nominations for Azura Memory Care’s Annual True Blue Award. We had a number of nominations from family members and team members highlighting the many dedicated individuals within our Caregiving and Leadership Teams who truly follow all the Core Values of our family of care.
Congratulations to one of this year’s True Blue Award recipients Sue Swenson, Caregiver at our Azura Memory Care of Stoughton home.. Below is a portion of the numerous nominations that Sue received for her dedication and compassion. We think you will agree that Sue is beyond True Blue and is truly EXCEPTIONAL!
True Blue Award: Sue Swenson, Caregiver
“I am very thankful for Azura-Stoughton and for staff like Sue Swenson. Sue has been a constant in my mom’s life since August 2015. My mom did not know a soul at Azura and Sue welcomed her and made her feel like a member of a family at her new home. Sue is always encouraging my mom to join in with the available activities at Azura and also calms my mom when she is struggling with a fear or confusion. Sue will sit side-by-side with my mom and just listen, being a secure and consistent person in her life.
One of the many things I like about Sue is that she is honest with me. When I call or see her, Sue will tell me if my mom is having a hard day, if she has fears, or if she’s having a great day! I like those. She is also very kind with the rest of my family whenever we visit. She makes us feel welcome and is available for any number of questions I ask. From my few observation, I believe Sue is also a mentor to some of the other staff at Azura; her values are shared and taught.
My opinion is that Sue Swenson is a Team Member that Azura should recognize and do their utmost to retain! It is staff like Sue who make family members glad that their parents are in such loving and capable care. I trust Sue and thank her for being there to encourage my mom to enjoy these days.” ~ K. “Sue is a guardian angel for my mom, Dale who has been a resident at Azura for about 3 years. Sue always has a “can do” attitude and follows through with requests in a timely manner. Most importantly, Sue has a big heart and lets that shine in all she does for residents. For example, when my mom had a stomach ache, Sue went on her break and got her some 7 Up. Sue goes above and beyond the call of duty consistently and is a great leader for the other staff members. Sue never seems tired or stressed out at work. She comes to Azura ready to serve others!
I am very grateful that Sue is involved in my mom’s life as a caretaker and a friend. Thank you for all you do Sue!” ~ Holly Banish, Resident Family Member
