Frank’s Moose Lake Dream

Frank is a resident at Azura Memory Care in Oak Creek. He is very proud of the life he made for himself after being taken as a prisoner of war to Germany during World War II. Frank served in the German Air Force during the war and picked up on many German customs. Frank moved to the US in 1956 to go to school for engineering. He worked for a German company that makes mining equipment called Harnischfeger, now renamed Komatsu. Fast forward, Frank ended up in the Merton, WI area and bought stocks decades ago to join the Carl Schurz Memorial Park and has been a member there ever since. The park is right on Moose Lake, a sentimental spot to Frank as that is where he met his wife, Ria, and has been married to her for 53 years. On Saturday, August 13th, Moose Lake is hosting a German-American festival with music, dancing and food. Frank is very excited to be attending this festival as he will be joined by many of his old friends and his beloved wife.
