The results from Groundhog’s Day may have declared six more weeks of winter, but our homes have been filled with so much warmth, love and joy that we entirely don’t mind. The month of February always welcomes many MOSAIC moments of joy; whether reflecting on past Valentine’s Day celebrations with loved ones, making sweet concoctions that illuminate moments of recollection, and sharing a Valentine or two to keep traditions in stride.
Our Quality of Life Coordinators reference our MOSAIC philosophy and tap into our resident’s Core Physiological Needs, engaging those within our care in many love-inspired activities for the month of February. Our homes recently had the opportunity to participate in a special Valentine card-making initiative through Project Angel Hugs, a non-profit organization who helps children and their families who are touched by cancer. Several of our homes were able to send their beautiful handmade Valentines to the organization who will be distributing them to the children for this special holiday.
Our homes have been using our Core Value of INNOVATION while thinking of ways to make this month special for our residents. Our Azura of Clinton home decorated their Christmas tree again, except this time they left the ornaments in the box and decorated it with Valentines, red ribbon and a big heart as the topper. Azura of Kenosha South had their residents and families engaged in making a LOVE canvas so they could display it on their walls and be filled with love every time they look at it. At Azura, we focus on the little things when creating INNOVATIVE adaptations so our residents can feel joy and partake in activities they have always enjoyed doing.
As much as we are looking forward to Spring, we have enjoyed seeing the special engagements being experienced in our homes throughout the winter months that have brought about many MOSAIC moments of joy! It is with full hearts that our Azura family wishes you a Happy Valentine’s Day. Enjoy with your loved ones!
